WHAT DOES YOGURT HAVE TO DO WITH ARC RATED GARMENTS?

We all know the reality of the marketing nowadays. If they show you a label of a yogurt with no added sugars, you believe it is lighter than others as it has no sugars on it. But the reality is that it has sugars, so it is not as lighter as we may think.

Same things happens in the protective garment’s certifications. Even the producers sell it as PPE for arc flash, flame resistant, chemicals protection, and multi-protection garments, we need to look beyond and check the certificate and the test report itself to see what else can surprise us. I.e: The number of washes they have certified.

As per my personal experience, most of the garments and fabrics are certified after 5 washes. It means that all the tests are carried out after 5 washes.

But, at the same time you start thinking:

WHO WASH THE GARMENTS ONLY 5 TIMES? NO ONE!

If some of us buy garments it is because we want them to be protective, yes, but also durable! And as most time we do not need to buy more, we will save much money for our pockets!

On the other hand, what happens after these 5 washes? What If we use the garment we bought during more time after 5 washes?

No one knows, maybe the garment can start tearing or it does not protect against the protections which is certified for.

People who guarantees the entire life of the garment is not offering the proper marketing, they are using words in their favour, but we all need to know the importance of the certifications and what they write in it.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN WHOLESAFETY?

In wholesfety, we certified most of our garments after 100 washes industrial laundry, which means that the garments are still protecting people after 100 washes at 75ºC. All the certificates must show the number of washes that the garment is allowed to, so we can know that it is accomplishing with the regulation after the number of washes that it is written in it.
